0 Interest Credit Cards

0 Interest Credit Cards

0 interest credit cards in the UK are those credit cards which have 0% introductory offers available for new customers.

These 0 interest credit cards may have a long 0% introductory offer available on purchases, or on balance transfers. Some UK cards will have 0% introductory offers available on both purchases, and on balance transfers.

After any 0% introductory offer on a 0 interest credit card has ended, then interest will be charged on any outstanding debt remaining on the card.

Any interest charged, will be at the standard interest rate for that particular credit card. Typically, this rate will be around 24.9% APR. However, some cards, and some customers may have a higher annual interest rate than this.

Credit Cards With 0 Interest

The main benefit that a 0 interest credit card offers UK card customers, is the opportunity to pay no interest. This will apply for the duration of the introductory 0% offers that are available on the card.

This allows customers using 0 interest credit cards to reduce their outstanding debt faster. All of your monthly card repayments reduce the balance of your outstanding debt. This means that none of your monthly credit card payments are being used to pay any interest charges.

A 0 interest card with a 0% offer on balance transfers for 26 months, for example, can give a customer over 2 years of not paying interest. This can save the customer a significant amount in interest payments.

Let’s, for example, say you had a £3,000 outstanding balance on your current card. You then make a balance transfer of the full amount using the current HSBC credit card offers below.

This could you save over a £1000 in interest over the interest free period. This does assume that you pay back the full £3000 credit card amount, during the period of the introductory 0% transfer offer.

Customers with the biggest credit card limit, and making larger balance transfers, can save even more.
