The AA credit card is now no longer available to new UK customers. As a result you can no longer apply for an AA credit card.
The AA credit cards were previously issued by Bank of Ireland UK. All credit cards issued by Bank of Ireland were transferred to a new credit card provider, Jaja Finance, in October 2020. This was as a result of Bank of Ireland UK deciding to exit the UK credit card market.
As a result of the change of card providers in the UK, all existing customers received a new Jaja credit card. Customers were also required to register using the Jaja online app to service their new Visa card. However, in the first half of last year, Jaja have now closed this replacement Jaja credit card for all UK customers.
Any introductory 0% offers the customer had on their old AA credit cards were unaffected. Any existing 0% offers on a customer’s AA card continued until their scheduled expiry date.
Prior to the transfer to Jaja, there were a range of AA credit cards with 0% deals and offers. These included the AA balance transfer credit card, as well as the AA FuelSave card.

AA balance transfer card customers whose 0% introductory offer has now finished, can make a balance transfer to new card, with a new 0% introductory offer.

Jaja is a relatively new credit card company. As a result, a few of the other credit card companies have not yet setup their details in their computer systems. This can occasionally, cause some issues with making balance transfers from some Jaja credit cards. Jaja is also generally not suitable for new customers looking for UK high limit credit cards.
One tip, that we have seen work if a customer has an issue, is to use your original AA credit card number for the balance transfer. This number can be found on the old card, or your paperwork for the original AA card.
The AA Credit Card
At one time, MBNA issued the AA credit card. This was prior to the cards being issued by Bank of Ireland UK.
MBNA issued many different credit cards, under many different brand names, including the AA. The list of MBNA credit cards was extensive. At one time MBNA were the largest issuer of credit cards within the UK card market.
The AA credit card UK, when issued by MBNA, used the Visa payment network. The cards issued by Bank of Ireland UK were issued using the Mastercard payment network. Both Mastercard and Visa credit cards accepted at millions of petrol stations, shops, hotels and restaurants all over the world.
