Instant Decision Credit Cards

Instant decision credit cards provide a customer with an instant decision, on whether they have been accepted or declined, for the card. The decision, for that particular credit card, is available at the end of the online application process.

Instant Decision Credit Cards

Most UK customers, when applying for a new credit card, now apply online. As a result these customers, often prefer to know immediately, whether their credit card application has been accepted or declined.

Instant decision credit cards are now much more common, than in previous years.

Almost all of the UK credit card companies and banks have now updated their computer systems for credit card applications. These new systems can now accommodate the increasing number of credit card applications being made online.

Instant Approval Credit Cards

Some instant decision credit cards, although not yet all of them, can now also complete all of the required paperwork online. This makes the application process, both easier and also faster, for both the customer and the issuing credit card company.

This process, for these instant approval credit cards, does allow the customer to receive their new credit card faster. Some other card companies still require the customer to wait to receive the paperwork from the card company, then sign and return that paperwork.  Only after this, will the customer then receive their new credit card.

Instant Decision Credit Card

Many instant credit cards in the UK, now offer a fast online decision. This can be within 60 seconds or less of the customer completing the application form.

Due to the current Coronavirus pandemic, many credit card companies have reduced staffing levels. As a result, this may lead to delays in the approval process, as well as delays in delivering new cards to customers.

Currently not all UK 0% credit cards are available with an instant approval online. Some card companies can not provide an instant online decision late at night, for example.

However, all of the following featured 0% credit cards are instant decision credit cards. These cards can offer the customer an instant online decision at the end of the application process.

How Does Credit Card Company Make Instant Decision?

How does a credit card company make their decision with an instant decision credit card?

The credit card companies use a process called credit scoring to help them make a decision online. This credit scoring happens after the customer completes the credit card’s online application form.

To score the application, the card company uses the information supplied by the customer on the application form, as well as the customer’s information held by a credit reference agency. In order to be accepted for that instant decision credit card, you will need to pass that credit card company’s criteria.

All credit card companies score customers differently. However, all of the card companies use mostly the same type of information, when making their decision. This information includes a customer’s address details, employment history, salary and their past use of credit.

Occasionally, even with instant decision credit cards, the credit card company maybe unable to make an instant online decision. In these cases, the card company may then refer the application.

With a referred application, a credit analyst will look at the customer’s application in more detail. In order to make a decision, the credit analyst may then request more information from the customer.

Quick Credit Card Delivery

Many of the leading UK credit card companies can now offer a quick credit card delivery after a successful online application.

Most UK credit card companies say to allow around 7 or more working days to receive a new 0% credit card. However, very often a customer will receive a quick credit card delivery. Customers can now often expect their new card within 3 to 5 days, after completing the application process.

The credit card arrival time may however be extended during a bank holiday period, for example. Delivery may also take longer if there are delays within the postal system. These delays can be due to bad weather or industrial action, for example.

Instant decision credit cards are currently available in the UK, using both the MasterCard and Visa payment networks.
