Instant decision credit cards provide an instant decision on whether a customer applying for the card, has been accepted or declined. The decision, for that particular credit card, is provided at the end of the online application process.
Many customers in the UK now apply online for a new 0% credit card. Customers who apply online, often prefer to know immediately whether they have been accepted or declined, for that particular credit card.
Instant decision credit cards are now much more common than they used to be.
Many of the UK credit card companies and banks have now updated and adapted their computer systems to accommodate the growing number of credit card applications being made online.
Instant Decision Credit Cards
Some instant decision credit cards, but not all of them, can now even complete all of the required paperwork online. This makes the application process both easier and faster, for both the customer and the issuing credit card company.
This process for these quick credit cards, does allow the customer to receive their new instant decision credit card faster. Some slower credit cards require the customer to wait to receive the paperwork from the credit card company, then sign and return that paperwork. Only then will the customer receive their new credit card.
How Does Credit Card Company Make Instant Decision?
How does a credit card company make their decision with an instant decision credit card?
The credit card companies use a process called credit scoring to help them make a decision online after the customer completes the credit card’s online application form.
To score the application, the card company uses the information supplied by the customer on the application form, as well as the customer’s information held by a credit reference agency. In order to be accepted for that instant decision credit card, you will need to pass that credit card company’s criteria.
All credit card companies score customers differently. However, all of the card companies use mostly the same type of information, when making their decision. This information includes a customer’s address details, employment history, salary and past use of credit.
Instant Decision Credit Card
Many instant decision credit cards now offer a fast online decision. This is often within 60 seconds or less of the customer completing the application form.
Currently not all UK 0% credit cards are available with an instant decision online. Some card companies can not provide an instant online decision late at night, for example.
However, all of the following featured 0% credit cards are instant decision credit cards. These cards can offer the customer an instant online decision at the end of the application process.

Occasionally even with instant decision credit cards, the credit card company maybe unable to make an instant online decision. In these cases, the card company may then refer the application.
With a referred application, a credit analyst will look at the customer’s application in more detail. In order to make a decision, the credit analyst may request more information from the customer.
Instant decision credit cards are currently available in the UK, using both the MasterCard and Visa payment networks.
