UK Interest Free Credit Card Offers
A couple of years ago, the introductory offers were as long as 0% for up to 43 months on balance transfers. However, the current 0 percent credit card deals are generally a lot shorter than this now.
This is a result of Bank of England warnings to the credit card companies and banks, regarding the level of consumer debt. This also had the additional effect of reducing the number of customers who were given high limit credit cards. As a result 10k credit card limits are now much less common for UK card customers, than they once were.
A more typical 0% introductory offer on balance transfers is now likely to be 27 months, or less. This does still give you a 2 year interest free credit card, and can save you a good amount on interest payments.
A 24 months interest free credit card with a 0% offer on balance transfers is available from a number of credit card companies. However, a 24 month interest free credit card with a 0% offer on purchases is now no longer available. In the UK, 0% interest free offers have historically, always been longer on balance transfers.

Even once the introductory 0% offer has ended on a your card, you will still have an interest free period. This interest free period can be typically up to 56 days. This does then allow you to pay later, for a purchase that was made today.
This interest free period occurs when you make a purchase using the card, and then repay the full amount when the monthly payment is due. This period between the purchase date and the payment date will be interest free.
However, if you only make the minimum credit card payment, then interest will be charged on the full amount of the purchase, from the date of the purchase.
